From ISSB readiness to stakeholder engagement: building an end-to-end ESG reporting journey
Across Asia, sustainability reporting is entering a new phase. As ISSB-based disclosure requirements are introduced across Hong Kong and other jurisdictions, organizations are moving from preparing for new requirements to putting the processes, governance and technology in place to deliver against them.
But compliance is only part of the challenge.
Producing a high-quality sustainability report requires organizations to connect materiality, governance, data collection, collaboration, report production and publication. When these activities are managed separately, reporting can quickly become fragmented, manual and difficult to control.
At ReThink Hong Kong 2026, Tangelo and KPMG China will bring these different parts of the reporting journey together in a joint workshop: From ISSB Readiness to Stakeholder Engagement: Building an End-to-End ESG Reporting Journey.
From reporting requirements to a working process
For many organizations, the first step is understanding what ISSB-based reporting means in practice.
Catherine Chung, Director, ESG Reporting and Assurance at KPMG China, will share practical insights into areas including materiality, value chain considerations, gap analyses, governance and change management. The focus will be on translating reporting requirements into the structures and processes organizations need to establish internally.
The next challenge is operational: collecting the right information from across the organization, maintaining control over that information and turning it into a report efficiently.
Tangelo will demonstrate how an integrated ESG reporting workflow can connect data collection and report production, helping reporting teams establish a more controlled and auditable process from initial data gathering through to the final publication.
Rather than treating ESG data collection and reporting as separate exercises, an integrated approach can give teams a clearer view of responsibilities, progress and source information while reducing manual handovers between systems and stakeholders.
Going beyond the published report
The reporting journey does not have to end when the final PDF is published.
Sustainability information serves a broad audience, from investors and regulators to employees, customers and other stakeholders. Digital reporting provides an opportunity to make that information easier to navigate, explore and understand.
The workshop will therefore conclude with a real-world example: the award-winning Swire Pacific Sustainability Report, produced using Tangelo.
Using the report as a case study, Tangelo will demonstrate how a modern sustainability microsite can transform a substantial sustainability report into an accessible digital experience, helping organizations communicate their sustainability performance beyond regulatory compliance.
One connected ESG reporting journey
Together, the KPMG and Tangelo perspectives will cover the reporting process from beginning to end: Understand requirements → establish governance → collect ESG data → manage the reporting process → produce the report → publish digitally → engage stakeholders
Attendees will leave with practical ideas for assessing their own ISSB readiness, strengthening ESG data and reporting workflows, and developing a roadmap towards a more integrated approach to sustainability reporting.
